Student Profile| BE Civil with Arch | What is Civil with Arch | Program Structure | Career Opportunities | Student Profile | Tania MilinkovichTania Milinkovich found the perfect fit for her interests when she discovered the Civil Engineering With Architecture program at UNSW. "I was tossing up between engineering and architecture so when I found out about the course it was perfect," the 18-year-old second-year student says. "I want to do structural engineering and work with architects: if you do a bridge or building an architect will design it but it will be the engineer who says whether it will be structurally sound." Civil Engineering with Architecture is an innovative degree which develops a student engineer’s appreciation of architectural principles – giving them an understanding of how engineers and architects interact in the real world every day. The first year of Tania's engineering degree was "challenging but definitely fun". "They really do teach you how architects think," she says. "It's been good to study alongside students from engineering and architecture." Tania is yet to decide whether she'll pursue postgraduate studies after her degree but is certain she'll use her skills to travel. "I'd love to work all around the world," she says. "The major projects right now are in Dubai – I think I'd like to go and work there."
