Postgraduate Coursework StudentsInformation For 2008If you are one of our postgraduate coursework students already enrolled and partially through one of the various programs and specialisation plans within the School you may be concerned with the pending changes in 2008 to all Faculty Programs and plans (specialisations). The new program and plans can be viewed quite easily at the School pages for Future Postgraduate students. You should NOT be concerned, The School, Faculty and UNSW will ensure you are able to complete your existing Program and Plan if that is your wish. In this regard all courses timetabled for 2008 are the new 6 UOC program courses. Many of these are the same 6 UOC courses from the old program plans (especially those in Project management, Construction management, Engineering and technology management, Infrastructure management, Structural engineering, Transport engineering, Waste management, Water and wastewater treatment, and Environmental engineering science.) In other specializations, many of the new 6 UOC courses are combinations of previous 3 UOC courses. For 2008 and as long as necessary we will be offering enrolment in selected older 3 UOC courses whilst you will attend tuition in the relevant equivalent components of the new courses. To assist you in planning your study for 2008 the School webpages include the Postgraduate timetable/offerings for semesters 1 and 2 in 2008. If you prefer the title of one of the new program plans (specializations) and wish to transfer this can be facilitated with full UOC transfer – you will be exempt from any Professional Development or Engineering and Technology Management components of the new programs. You should have received in December 2007, an email indicating an academic staff member to contact regarding your program plan completion. If you have not received this email then please contact the School office at info@civeng.unsw.edu.au Please note that the availability of old and new program courses may vary from session to session and courses may be offered in alternate years. Current Distance or External Program StudentsFor those students that are undertaking the Distance or External Programs you will find that the CVEN8xxx course codes are no longer in the timetable/offering. You should select and enrol in the same named course CVEN9xxx BUT be sure to tick the external/distance option when you enrol in MyUNSW. Information About
