Lab Rules

  • UNSW Security monitors electronically access to these laboratories.
  • No students must be in laboratories outside official opening hours.
  • There is a software logout process active in both laboratories. This will automatically log off all users after the closing times. A warning will be displayed on your monitor. It is your responsibility to ensure that all files are backed up in time.
  • It is a requirement of the University that a student ID card be carried at all times whilst attending any of the UNSW Campuses. A valid student ID card is the only way to gain access to the School's Computing Laboratories.
  • Students cannot open the doors to let other students into the laboratories.
  • Students should also ensure that all security doors are locked behind them after they enter the building or laboratories after hours.
  • Students may be asked at random by either the laboratory supervisor or UNSW Security to produce a valid student card indicating the current status of enrolment and authority to be in the building or laboratory.
  • Computer laboratories are not to be used as discussion rooms.
