About Us


The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering was one of the foundation Schools of the University when UNSW was first established in 1949. Today, with over 1500 undergraduate and postgraduate students, we are the largest and most successful School of our type in Australia, a dynamic and integral part of the Faculty of Engineering, and internationally renowned for our research facilities and achievements.

Mission


Our mission is:

  • To develop well-educated graduates with the essential skills, attributes and knowledge that will enable them to practise as professional civil or environmental engineers;
  • To conduct research and development of international distinction to meet the needs of the discipline, industry and society both locally and internationally.
